Curb Appeal

April 19, 2023

Today marked another big day in the progression of our building site as the landscaping installation has begun. You will not find any Bradford Pear trees being planted at Family Pet Health! We chose to select a variety of trees native to Tennessee such as Tulip Poplar, Redbud, Red Maple, and Oak. When you drive down Richard Reeves Dr. and see our building, we hope that the trees that we have selected make you feel like you are pulling up to grandma’s house for a family reunion.

Outdoor Patios

March 26, 2023

The outdoor patios for 6 of our 10 exam rooms are being formed up. That’s right, you will have the option of waiting outside if you are more comfortable there. We know that many of our canine patients will prefer the outdoor exam spaces!

Lobby Windows

March 19, 2023

The lobby windows are all in place and work has begun on the faux beams that will really stand out! It’s hard to believe but this lobby is not much bigger than our current one. You will find no seating in this Fear Free lobby because our goal is to get pets straight into the exam room.

Drywall and windows installed!

February 24, 2023

The installation of drywall was completed earlier this week, and the window installation should be finished by the time this post is up! Now that the walls are up and natural light is coming through the windows and filling the inside of the building, it is becoming easier to picture what the finished product will look like. Natural light is a HUGE part of the design of our new hospital. Natural light is not only good for the healing process of our pets, but it’s also great for the people who work in this space and for our clients. The windows throughout the building also affirm our commitment to transparency. We never want people to feel like we are hiding anything from them. We want the world to see our team’s care for our patients. Our interior doors and windows are the next items to be installed.

ONE WEEK FROM DRYWALL

January 25, 2023

Everything is in place for drywall to come in next week. Walking through the construction now, you have a great feel for how the rooms will feel. We can’t wait to experience the benefits of a wellness wing, with exterior entrances to the exam rooms and patio space available to really reduce the fear, anxiety, and stress of nervous pets. Our medical wing is designed to facilitate the most efficient flow to ensure quality care for sick and hospitalized pets. And check out that garage space!

Raise the Roof!!!!

What a difference two weeks can make! Our framing contractor, Garbison Construction, wasted no time in framing out the downstairs of the new Family Pet Health hospital building. They have already turned their attention to setting the roof trusses. Taking Shape

The building is starting to really take shape as the framing crew has begun putting up the walls this week! It has been amazing to watch as our dream of designing a Fear Free veterinary hospital is coming to reality right before our eyes. I stopped by this week to check on the progress, and I think the construction crews thought I was the OSHA inspector! They didn’t have anything to worry about, because this is one of the finest crews I have ever seen.

The sewer lines are being put in at the new hospital location! Over the next two weeks, all the plumbing lines will be set in place. Once they are inspected, we will cover them with gravel and prepare to pour the concrete slab. This view helps to show the size of our project. We will have 10 total exam rooms to better meet your needs!!! #HereWeGrow
